Synopsis

Hong-cheol is living a dull, tedious life, spending his required time in the army. He gets a call from a friend, and the friend leaves on a plane to go study abroad. He talks to his friend Shin-hee, who doesn¡¯t understand him at all and talks about inconsequential things. He finally is forced to take a rifle into a dark tunnel. Through drama, the movie portrays the realities and agonies of young men who had to go to the army during the dark political situation of the early 80s.

Director Bio : Hwang Gyu-deok (1960- )

Born in Seoul in 1960. He graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in German and was a member of the Seoul Film Group from his college days, directing short films there. After working as an assistant director for director Im Kwon-taek, he made his directorial debut with the 1990 film, From the last to the first, looking for our class (Koldeungbuteo-ildeungkaji-wooribaneul-chatseumnida). He took a long hiatus from directing after making his 1991 film, Longing for love (Jigeum ulineun salanghago sipda), and made a directorial comeback in 2003 with the movie, Chulsoo&Younghee (Chulsoowa Younghee).
